A category shows money I didn't expect

A category's Available is what carried in, plus what you assigned, plus its activity. Open the category to see each one, then check:

1. Carried in from last month. Categories set to carry forward keep their balance, left over or overspent. See Month-end rules.
2. A reassignment. Money moved in or out shows in its activity. Reassignments are listed with your transactions.
3. A refund or return categorized to it adds money back.
4. A transaction in the wrong category, or a split line. Choose its activity to see the transactions.
5. Transactions waiting in Needs review don't count against a category until you approve them.
