Transactions came in twice
Pensum matches imports and synced transactions against what's already there, so duplicates are rare. When they happen, it's usually because:
- the same transactions came from two places, such as a bank file and bank sync;
- an account was removed and added again at the bank or SimpleFIN, which gives every transaction a new ID;
- you entered something by hand with a different amount or a date far from the bank's.
Find and merge them
Open the account's Reconcile screen. Likely duplicates lists pairs that are probably the same transaction, including ones the bank sent again in a later sync. Choose Merge to keep one: your category and memo stay, with the bank's date.
If they're two real transactions (two coffees on the same day), choose Not a duplicate.
When the account's balance is off by the duplicates, they're also listed among the likely causes, marked Fixes it. See When the balance doesn't match.
