Bank sync needs attention
When a bank connection has a problem, the account shows a warning, and Settings → Bank connections says what's wrong. The common ones:
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| SimpleFIN no longer accepts Pensum's access | Access was turned off at SimpleFIN, or expired. Make a new setup token at SimpleFIN and connect again. |
| SimpleFIN says your subscription needs attention | Sign in to SimpleFIN and renew or fix your subscription there; syncing picks up again by itself. |
| SimpleFIN didn't return this account | It was removed at SimpleFIN, or its bank needs reconnecting there. Fix it at SimpleFIN; if the account comes back, Pensum recognizes it. |
| The bank needs you to sign in again (Stripe) | Choose Reconnect beside the account and sign in to your bank in Stripe's window. |
| Bank sync through Stripe is paused | It comes with the Sync plan, and the budget's owner isn't on it now. |
| Transactions may be missing | The bank no longer had transactions for those dates. Download a file from your bank for them and import it; anything already there is matched, not doubled. |
| The bank's balance and Pensum's cleared balance differ | Reconcile the account to find out why. |
Only the person who connected a bank can reconnect or change it. On free plans, scheduled syncing pauses when nobody has used the budget for 9 months; opening the budget starts it again.
